Transformation
Leadership Vision

"This opportunity is created by a
revolution in the technology of
war. Power is increasingly
defined, not by mass or size, but
by mobility and swiftness.
Influence is measured in
information, safety is gained in
stealth, and force is projected on
the long arc of precision-guided
weapons. This revolution
perfectly matches the strengths
of our country, the skill of our
people and the superiority of our
technology. The best way to keep
the peace is to redefine war on
our terms."

1 -President Bush, 1999 Citadel Speech

The Army Reserve
- Draining Transformation -

• The old way of doing business is insufficient to
meet today's and tomorrow's challenges.

• Units trained and manned to standard so they
can report within 24 hours and dramatically
reduce post-Mobilization training.

• TTHS account will allow units to be manned with
a higher level of deployable soldiers.

• USARPERSCOM will manage soldier assignments.

DAAR-ZX

The Army Reserve

■ Challenges to Training Transformation ”

• Individual Training and Education

- New courseware for distance learning

- Assignment to TTHS account for PME

- Management of TTHS and soldier assignments

• Collective Training

- Highly specialized and technical force structure

- Geographical dispersion

- Limited time available
